CERTIFIED AFFORDABLE CARE ACT NAVIGATOR AT UNITED WAY OF CENTRAL FLORIDA

Polk, FL – United Way of Central Florida is now home to the only licensed, certified Affordable Care Act Navigator in Polk County. Jane Coyle-Hart completed her Marketplace certification on October 8, 2013 and is now available to assist individuals and families in their search for health insurance in the new, federally created Marketplace.

Health Insurance Marketplace Navigators are able to assist with preparing electronic and paper applications. They can also help consumers find out of they qualify for affordability programs and assist with that enrollment, when needed. Other responsibilities include outreach and public education about the Affordable Care Act and the Marketplace.

In Florida, Navigators must not only be certified, they must also be licensed. The process for certification and licensing requires 30 hours of online training, state and federal background check, fingerprinting and license registration issued by the Florida Department of Financial Services.

Jane Coyle-Hart holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Health & Human Services from Upper Iowa University, and has an extensive background in the medical field both in Health care medical services, as well as Health Insurance industry, specifically handling customer service and insurance coverage related issues. Most recently, she was a Prevention/Training Coordinator at Citizen CPR.
