Meet Curious George at Family Fundamentals

MEET CURIOUS GEORGE AT FAMILY FUNDAMENTALS

Polk, FL – Family Fundamentals, United Way of Central Florida’s parent resource center, is hosting a free family event on Thursday, September 12, 4:30-6:30pm. The event will feature a visit from Curious George, a favorite character from children’s books.

“One of the focuses of Family Fundamentals is childhood literacy,” said Jodi Miller, Director of Success By 6. “This event will bring reading to life for children by allowing them to meet one of their favorite characters.”

The event is designed for children in pre-K through 3rd grade, and will feature a story time, activity, and snack. Each child who attends will also receive a free book.

Family Fundamentals is a part of United Way of Central Florida’s Success By 6 program. Success By 6 is an initiative to make early childhood development a top priority in Polk, Hardee and Highlands counties and to ensure that all children, by the age of six, have the physical, emotional, social, and mental foundation to succeed in school and in life.

Family Fundamentals provides weekly classes and activities for children and parents to learn together. It is located at 1021 Lakeland Hills Boulevard on the second floor of the Lakeland Volunteers in Medicine building.
