United Way Issues New Education Request for Proposal

The Highlands County Division of the United Way of Central Florida today released its FY 2011 Request for Proposal.

Nonprofit and other exempt organizations and programs supporting education work based in and/or serving Highlands County are invited to apply for funding that will begin September 1, 2011.

Work must support education programs for children, birth to 18 that accomplish measureable results in one or both of the following two areas: I. School readiness; II. Academic achievement for students in grades K – 12.

Applicants have until June 30, 2011 to complete the proposal. Funds will be awarded through a competitive grant process with a maximum allocation of $25,000.
