Walk to celebrate volunteerism! You're also pledging to volunteer sometime after COVID-19 for a 2 hour volunteer opportunity. United Way of CF will email you opportunities during the year that you could choose from. . This is an independent walk. Just let us know you walked by registering, here. After your walk, stop by United Way of CF during office hours for your free t-shirt (while supplies last). Volunteer at a place you identify in need before end of business 4/22/2021 (Thursday). Maybe it's picking up: litter at the bus stop or litter at a fishing spot at one of the area's lakes. Take a picture of your service and post on Facebook including @UnitedWayofCentralFlorida. We may repost your good deed! Register here so we can gather a community count for this project. Write 5 thank you notes of thanks to a First Responder, Healthcare Worker, Teacher or other person who is on the front lines during the COVID-19 crisis. Bring your note cards to United Way of CF before end of business 4/22/2021 and we'll drop them off at the generic location you use for the recipient. For example: Address the envelope simply to Fire Dept, School, Senior Home, Healthcare. For more information email volunteer@uwcf.org . Please join Women United for Day of Caring, Thursday, April 22 from 9 to Noon. You likely know the story, but with construction well underway, Bonnet Springs Park needs your help. Drainage issues at the park have been resolved from a past as a conduit of street runoff flooding the property. BSP needs help getting the remnants of plastic, litter and past homeless encampments cleared before new plantings inhibit being able to clear the drainage area to the area planned as the lagoon walkway. . You'll need work gloves, hiking boots and possibly insect repellant (sneakers may not be good enough). Your group of 20 will get a quick update on the construction, well underway, then you'll work the wood area that borders the soon to be lagoon. This is a great opportunity to be part of the hands-on work of the park.
