Are you interested in being a tax volunteer? We need greeters and preparers for the 2022 tax season and would love to have YOU! Our partner, Personal Finance Center of Polk (PFC) provides training free of charge, so you will be confident and competent in your ability to prepare simple tax returns.
PFC provides an 8-hour training in December and tax season is the last week of January through the second week of April. We will have several tax sites around Polk County, and will try to place you at your first choice of location.
Most volunteers commit one day (about five hours) a week. Greeter training is 2 hours (you have to learn IRS site operation guidelines that include non-discrimination and other standards of conduct).
