Community Investment Teams

Each year during the spring, United Way of Central Florida manages 100+ volunteers on 17 teams to award grants to improve community conditions for EDUCATION, INCOME, and HEALTH.  SAFETY NET programs provide critical emergency services for the community.

The chairs and vice-chairs of the Polk & Hardee teams meet each month throughout the year on the first Tuesday at noon.

In Spring 2018, 92 local services are being considered by the teams for a possible offer of partnership in July, to work for a year with United Way of Central Florida to:

• increase school readiness for pre-school children
• support school adademic success in middle school and promote high school graduation
• achieve financial stability with hard working families through financial education and their accumulation of financial assets
• reduce avoidable emergency room visits by improving specific health indicators with individuals and improving their health
• intervene in short term emergency situations to help manage personal crisis
