Members of the United Way of Central Florida Tocqueville Society fulfill the 19th century writing of Frenchman Alexis de Tocqueville by exhibiting the American philanthropic spirit. Established at United Way of Central Florida in 1987, membership into the Society is granted to individuals and families who invest $10,000 or more annually.

The Tocqueville Society is a group of extraordinary community leaders and philanthropists who demonstrate their commitment to making Central Florida a better place to live, work, and raise a family. Tocqueville Society members are results-oriented individuals who generously share their financial resources, time and expertise to make a measurable difference for individuals and families throughout our community.

Tocqueville Society Step-Up: You may accept the challenge to join the Tocqueville Society by making incremental increases in your United Way gift. From the first year of entering the step-up program, you will be recognized as a member of the Tocqueville Society.

 

1st year Tocqueville Member: $2,500

2nd year Tocqueville Member: $5,000

3rd year Tocqueville Member: $7,500

4th year Tocqueville Member: $10,000

Démocratie Society

The Démocratie Society, formerly known as the Patrons Society, was renamed in 2009 by the Tocqueville Committee in order to better recognize a significant giving level within the United Way of Central Florida's Leadership Giving Association. These members are addressing critical social issues by contributing their time, talent and financial support to achieve positive, lasting change in Central Florida. Society members are engaged and have a real connection to the community.
