Join Women United for a virtual lunch and learn featuring Lakeland City Commissioner Stephanie Madden. In honor of Constitution Week and in the spirit of Thomas Jefferson’s quote, “The government closest to the people serves the people best,” join us as we hear from a local government perspective, at a time when it can be a challenge to respond respectfully, and engage in meaningful dialogue. Local communities must lead the way. We hope this talk will inspire you to become a bridge-builder for our community.
In preparation for this discussion, Commissioner Madden asked us to include a link to the TED Talk entitled, How to Disagree Productively and Find Common Ground.” Stephanie watched this talk and thought it would be great for anyone who would like to see more opportunities for civil, kind and constructive conversations, even on very challenging subjects.
