Do you have a passion for improving people's lives? Can you objectively evaluate whether or
not measurable improvements are being made people's lives? If so, we need you on our
Community Investment Teams!
Community Investment Team members evaluate the effectiveness of programs contributing to community goals in either Education, Income, Health, or Safety Net. Volunteers are trained, and they agree to commit a total of about 15 hours of time on four dates from February to May. Each team will rate 6 to 8 programs on their past success and planned goals for 2014. A grant recommendation is then made that is ultimately considered by the United Way Board of Directors.
An orientation of about 2 hours is required in February. In March, team members will meet on an agreed date for 2 hours to consider written documentation. In April, the team will spend a full day visiting each program and meeting with the partner's Board of Directors and staff. The final 2 hour meeting takes place in May, at which the team receives its budget and makes the grant recommendations for the programs.
Be a part of this process and help us invest in making meaningful, measurable improvements our community! For more information, email us or call 863-648-1500.
