Announcing 2013-2014 New Board Members and Executive Officers

On April 18, a committee comprised of six current Officers and chaired by Dr. Eileen Holden of Polk State College, met to review a matrix of current Board composition with attention given to geographic, racial, gender and business diversity and also studied Board attendance over the last 18 months. From this matrix, the committee created a slate of members, as well as the Officers and Executive Committee for the 2013-2014 fiscal year. Ten new members were added, and four members are outgoing. The slate of nominees was approved by the full Board of Directors at the regular June meeting, and go into effect on July 1, 2013.

The Officers and Executive Committee for 2013-2014 are as follows:

• Chairman: Eileen Holden, Polk State College
• Chair Elect: Jerome Ferson, Ledger Media Group
• Vice Chair: Terry Brigman, City of Lakeland
• Secretary: Pauline Brown, OneBlood
• Treasurer: Fran McAskill, Board of County Commissioners
• Campaign Chair: David Robinson, DSM Technology Consultants, Inc.
• Community Investment: Fred Koehler, The Fred Group
• Community Impact: Terry Brigman, City of Lakeland
• Strategic Planning: Jerome Ferson, Ledger Media Group
• Past Chair: Joe Tedder, Polk County Tax Collector
  

The following new members were approved to serve a first three-year term:

• Patrick Cummings, Mosaic
• Debbie Harsh, CenterState Bank
• Jevon Herman, Republic
• Kathryn Koch, Lanier Upshaw
• Terry Lamy, CF Industries
• Sharon Miller, Polk State College
• Marty Oliver, Publix Super Markets, Inc.

The following new members were approved to serve a one-year term based on affiliation:

• Dusty Johnson, Liaison, Highlands County Advisory Board
• Stephanie Colon, Liaison, EMERGE Lakeland
