Our Annual Campaign is in full swing, and mid-point results are showing some serious
increases in generosity from three local businesses.
Centerstate Bank reports a whopping 668% increase in employee giving to United Way of Central Florida's fall campaign and will move into the elite list of Top 50 Companies. DSM Technology Consultants has reported a 61% increase, Citizens Bank & Trust has a 26% increase to round out the top three biggest increases at this point in the traditional fall campaign.
Our two largest Campaign participants, Publix Supermarkets, Inc. and Mosaic Company, make up almost 50% of the United Way campaign drive. Both companies say they expect employee support for their community to grow this year, although their campaigns won't be final for another month or two.
Campaign Chair Eileen Holden says she's encouraged by the results, so far, and is thankful for the hard work of everyone involved in the campaign. The goal is $8.8 million dollars, and employee campaigns are at peak intensity this month as they get ready to report final results.
What do these increases mean for our community? The Campaign is United Way's main means of raising funds to support local efforts to improve people's lives through education, income, and health. With these funds and some amazing partner programs, we are able to create measurable improvements and drive lasting change in the lives of people right here in Polk, Highlands, and Hardee counties.
We're excited to know that our local businesses and their employees care so much about helping their neighbors. Thank you all so much!
