Young Leaders Society (YLS) Volunteer Project

The Young Leaders Society had their first Volunteer Project at the Schowe Boys & Girls Club on December 15^th, 2010. Around 40 kids from the Boys & Girls Club had a great time eating pizza, decorating holiday ornaments and signing Live United T-shirts.  The holiday ornaments that they creatively made went to VISTE clients, a UWCF Partner Agency.  Kimberly Fair from VISTE came out to speak to the kids about VISTE and how they help elderly clients throughout our community.  After the ornament creating, the kids got a lesson on what it means to “Live United” from Wesley Barnett, a YLS Committee Member.  Each child wore a Live United T-Shirt and with team effort, signed each other’s shirts.  It was a great way to show what can be accomplished when we work together.
