United Way of Central Florida held an appreciation breakfast on March
29th for the 2011 Employee Coordinators (ECs). The event featured
a welcome by Terry Worthington, United Way President, a campaign recap
by Cindy Alexander, 2011 Resource Development Chair, and
musical performances by partner agency members at Tri-County Human
Services, Lakeland Volunteers in Medicine and the Alliance for
Independence.
Alexander announced that the 2011 "I'M IN!"
campaign had surpassed its fundraising goal of $8.7 million. The final
campaign total will be presented at the United Way's annual meeting on
May 30th.
"We could not be enjoying this success
without the commitment and dedication of our ECs and their company
support," said Alexander. "Today, I am so proud and from the bottom of
my heart I can testify that YOU ALL WERE IN!"
Pam Craven of the Learning Resource Center received the partner agency
award for outstanding employee coordinator. Jim Luffman of CPS
Investment Advisors was named outstanding EC for a small
organization (10 – 49 employees). Shea Brock of ButterKrust Bakery was
honored as the outstanding EC for a medium organization (50 - 199
employees). Mosaic’s Mary Ann Harrell, was named outstanding EC for a
large organization (200 or more employees). Finally, Publix Super
Markets' Jodi Ridley, 2010 EC of the year, presented the 2011 EC of the
year award to Bonnie Parker of SunTrust Bank.
