Family Service Partners Need Tax Volunteers

November is volunteer recruitment season for the United Way of Central Florida's Free-Tax-Prep program. Six United Way partner agencies will host Free-Tax-Prep sites that open in January.

More volunteers mean more site hours that allow hard working families with incomes up to $50,000 opportunity to get their taxes done.

United Way partner agencies offer on-site tax prep programs in order for families to have immediate contact with counselors who can help them begin savings goals, pay down debt and improve credit scores.

Tax season provides some families up to 20% of their annual income due to the earned income tax credit available to working families.

With help, this resource can be used by motivated families to increase their financial stability. Counselors are trained to help families focus on savings plans to achieve educational degrees, reliable transportation for work or home repairs for energy conservation.
