Week of Thanks June 20-24
Thank you to all who participated in the 2015 United Way of Central Florida campaign. Together, we raised over $9 million and made a difference in the lives of children, families and seniors in our community.
We kicked off our week of thanks festivities, on June 20th, with positive picketing in Bartow. You may have seen many United Way staff and volunteers, in town, waving at passersby. Positive picketing and an early morning stretch, lead by our President & CEO Alan H. Turner II, continued on Tuesday at ITW ProAp, while positive picketing took place in downtown Winter Haven. Wednesday, staff and volunteers gathered at Munn Park in Lakeland to wave and thank everyone. We will continue our festivities on Thursday with morning positive picketing, at Broadway and Main in Fort Meade, moving to Hardee County at noon. Rounding out the week of thanks, on Friday, we will be positive picketing in the morning in Lake Wales and in Auburndale at noon. If you see them, smile and wave! Thank you letters and notes are being sent out throughout the week. Staff have delivered cookie cakes and notecards to the Employee Coordinators of our Top 50 companies to thank them for their hard work and dedication running their campaigns.
Your gift serves to strengthen our community by tackling key issues in Education, Income and Health. Dedicated donors like you help United Way achieve its mission to improve lives in Polk, Hardee and Highlands counties.
