Family Fundamentals Hosts 'Sailabration'

Family Fundamentals held a pirate-themed Children's Day 2011 - 10th Birthday "sailabration" on Saturday, April 9th. More than 500 parents and children joined the fun and caught beads thrown from Captain Ken's 60-foot pirate ship. The event featured pirate pony rides, a make-your-own-treasure-chest game, face painting and more. Children also enjoyed a "Sail to Success" show with Julian and his Canine Castaways.

Family Fundamentals envisions a community environment that generates successful children, informed and effective parents, a legacy of strong and united families, and safe neighborhoods. Carol Jenkins Barnett founded Family Fundamentals as a Success By 6 oureach in 1995.

The Family Fundamentals facility opened in August 2001 and features a resource library, computer lab and a variety of classes that stimulate early literacy and school readiness. More than 50 community partners also utlize three adult classrooms, a conference room and 24 offices.
