Community Leaders Honored at Annual Meeting

The United Way of Central Florida hosted its Annual Meeting on April 12 at Highland Park Church of the Nazarene. The organization honored a number of individuals and organizations who helped make 2010 a successful year.

Rich Shapiro received the prestigious United Way Citizen of the Year award. John Fitzwater was also honored as the George W. Jenkins Volunteer of the Year.

Four awards were presented to recognize exemplary corporate citizenship of companies that support United Way of Central Florida. DSM Technology Consultants received the Small Business Summit Award. The Medium Business Summit Award was presented to the Ledger Media Group. Polk State College earned the Large Business Summit Award. QMI was also recognized as the winner of the Spirit of Central Florida Award.
