On February 11th, the Young
Leaders Society held their first Lunch and Learn at the United Way of
Central Florida. 20 Young Leaders attended this event to hear speaker,
Wesley Barnett, discuss TreeTop Software's Sweat Monkey. This tool is
used for both nonprofit organizations and students looking for volunteer
opportunities within our community. Not only does it help nonprofits
find volunteers, but it also helps students create their resumes by
tracking their volunteering activities. It also helps schools and
teachers utilize community involvement in their classroom. Attendees
heard from June May-Barnett about the 2-1-1 referral line at United Way.
She described how individuals in need can call the referral line and get
connected to resources in our community. It was a very informative event
matched with a great meal!
